What's In a Name?

Many people have asked us at Corvid Development, "How did you choose your name?". There is a simple answer to this: Image. Corvid is a name for a family of birds which includes: Ravens, Crows, Jays, Magpies. These birds personify the image we wish to portray for several reasons.

 Intelligence

The corvids are the smartest of all birds. They have the ability to learn words as well as to count.  They are quick learners, basically the most intelligent of their kind.  At Corvid Development Inc., we only employ the best of the best.

Tool Users

To date, corvids are the only birds known for tool use. They use sticks to scrape insects out of hollowed trees, and different twigs for preening themselves. At Corvid Development, we pride ourselves on being one of the only software development shops to bring their own specialized tools to the job site, so this image also works for us.

Adapatability

The corvids are known as the most highly adaptable birds. They live on every continent across the globe in a multitude of environments. If you are on a mountain top in the Andes, the desert, the rain forest, or the city, you will likely be able to see a corvid of some kind living near by. Because of this adaptability, many cultures have myths of Ravens as shapeshifters. At Corvid Development, we too are adaptable. We adapt to the clients particular needs with lightning quickness.
